PLC Venezuela offers an exclusive line of equipment for optical communication between electrical substations, such as Multiplexers SDH / SONET (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy / Synchronous Optical Network), General Electric JungleMUX series, TN1U, and supported applications on traditional platforms wavelength multiplexing WDM (Wavelenght Division Multiplexing). Optical amplification techniques are available for next-generation integration in the same line of products offered.
The optical protection system can implement dedicated 1 +1 travel protection, a type of optical channel OSNC (Optical Sub-Network Connection Protection) or equipment (optical channel more equipment). The system is transparent to rate and transmission protocols, as well as technology transfer, and can work with digital systems (SDH, GbE, Fast Ethernet, ESCON, FICON, Fiber Channel and others), analog systems (video), and unlimited capacity for CWDM / DWDM Systems.

Optical amplifiers satisfy applications in multiple telecommunication areas. They can be implemented in long distance link implementation without repeaters, as optical repeaters and in sensitivity increase of optical systems. Optical amplifiers are completely manageable, either via Metropad platform, which integrates CWDM and DWDM technologies, or other management systems.

They are useful when optical amplification is needed in systems where transmitters are incompatible with a commercial amplifiers’ window, when it is necessary to make a transmitter wavelength compatible with the quadruplex system, and also when wavelength division multiplexing is used.

The Platform can be used in WDM WAN, metropolitan, access, and storage networks (SAN - Storage Area Network). It incorporates two technologies: DWDM - High Density Wavelength Division Multiplexing and CWDM - Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing. This supports new transport service wavelengths with favorable cost effectiveness. Its internal architecture allows for a system to begin to operate with just a few CWDM optical channels, with a very low cost of deployment and with its ability to evolve according to the increase in transport traffic demand from customers to dozens of DWDM optical channels, offering CWDM and DWDM channels that can operate simultaneously in one system xWDM.

The robust design of the TN1Ue SDH Multiplexer makes it the ideal fiber optic telecommunications and security services solution for the utility, transportation, pipeline and industrial sectors. The enclosed shelf design provides additional security in harsh Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) environments. The GE Multilin TN1Ue SDH system’s modular packaging is economically scalable for both large and small sites.
Image and BrochureThe robust design of the GE Multilin JungleMUX SONET Multiplexer makes it the ideal optical networking solution for electric power utility, transportation, pipeline and many industrial requirements. This powerful SONET multiplexer has a modular design for ease of maintenance, configuration flexibility, and expandability.
Image and BrochureDesigned to operate in harsh substation environments, the UCC 2020 is an El, 2.048 Mbps
Digital PCM Multiplexer which offers up to thirty-one, 64kbps channels. The unit provides
full featured, drop-and-insert capability for each voice frequency circuit or any digital
signal that can be transmitted in a 64 Kbps channel. With a drop-and-insert delay of less
than 25 microseconds and a fast reframe capability, the UCC 2020 is ideally suited for
transporting Teleprotection and data signals, as well as voice channels.
The UCC 2020 can be fully configured by software or hardware. The unit has an RS-232
port for remote access and control and a local user interface with switches for selecting and
setting parameters. Additionally an alphanumeric display with a bi-level LED indicating
on/off status, is provided for viewing all system parameters and settings.
A variety of voice, data, and Teleprotection modules as well as redundant power supplies
are available to meet your substation's exact communication requirements. The UCC 2020
automatically recognizes the type, location and operational settings of each module based
upon both its physical location in the chassis and digital time slot.
